Atlantic Coast Cafe Avon....Daily Visit
by Travis Snead
After years of staying in Nags Head and Kitty Hawk, my family migrated south to Avon in 2009 to find an even more relaxed week each year. While looking for lunch that first trip, we happened upon Atlantic Coast Cafe in front of the Avon Pier. The sign broadcasting fish tacos caught my wife's eye, while the name caught mine with its similarity to the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The tacos were heavenly to say the least. With its grilled fish and seafood pico de gallo, the tacos will satisfy both your palate and appetite. A cousin to the tacos is the delightful seafood quesadilla. Of course, you can eat your basic American staples like hamburgers, which my son couldn't get enough of this year in 2012.
The staff is unbelievably friendly and attentive to your needs.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner along with nightly entertainment at dinner time outside, ACC has become our favorite restaurant and become a daily meal for us. Yes, for the last two years, we have purchased at least one meal per day of our vacation from ACC. Next year will be no different!
