What can you tell me about the Outer Banks?

by Sharon
(Richmond, VA)

Please tell me about the Outer Banks. Where did you stay? Where did you eat? Do you have any recommendations to someone who wants to take a trip there? I'm thinking about staying around Kill Devil Hills ... unless you know someplace better.

The Outer Banks is a GREAT Vacation Location
by: Outer Banks Revealed

We've been going to the Outer Banks since 1991. We have two rental houses, one in Duck and one is Salvo, on Hatteras Island. If you are looking for shopping and lots of things to do, then I would go to Duck. If you are looking for quiet, but are also big into water activities (surfing, kite surfing, fishing, etc.) I would go with Salvo. In order to determine which Outer Banks town may be best for you, review the Beach Vacation tab.

My favorite restaurant is the Colington Café located in Kill Devil Hills. Here are more restaurant recommendations, including for the Colington Café, from both locals and vacationers alike. Take a read through to determine what fits for you.

The Outer Banks is rich in historical sites and beautiful natural surroundings. Because of this, there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities; depending on what it is you would like to do.
