Place in OBX for college/grad students aged 21-24?

I'm planning on going to the outer banks with some friends this summer. We range from ages 21-24, are there places in OBX that would be more preferable for young adults like ourselves? Any specific place that has more bars/nightlife? Thanks!

Where the young adults hang
by: Dan

I would think that most of the activity for young adults would be in the Kitty Hawk to Nags Head area. There are more bars and restaurants in this stretch and I believe the houses are a little less expensive than Southern Shores and north. There are restaurants and bars in Duck and Corolla, but it is more densely populated in the Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head areas.

The issue you will have is finding a place to rent to you. You need to be 25 to sign a lease on the Outer Banks. This is a NC state law and strictly enforced by the Rental Companies. Further, you will need to find a home owner who is willing to rent to you. Finding a place to stay for nonfamily groups can be a struggle.

You may want to read this about how Non-Family Groups might have a chance at renting a house on the Outer Banks, and even then, it will be a struggle.

Kind regards,
Dan

No House

To answer your questions 'young adults' get hotel rooms. People have a lot of money in the rental homes and are more than likely not willing to rent a home out to a bunch of college kids looking to party and break stuff. The age thing will be what will not allow the rental home idea work even if you did find a home that would rent to your group. By the way, I'm 28 and been in your situation..well not really I just got to stay in houses that family owned :) Later! oh and Good Luck!
