Pearl Hunting

I used to go to Nags Head every year with my family and we stayed at MP 11. Many years ago when we were there I remember going to a place where you could pick your own oyster and open them to see if there was a pearl inside and then you could have it made into a ring or earrings, etc. Does anyone know if this place exists and if so where it is located?
