Outer Banks Hotels:
A Listing by Town of Available Hotels and Motels

We have never stayed in any of the Outer Banks hotels or motels during our many stays on the Outer Banks, but it is a popular mode of shelter for many people, particularly during the summer months for those not looking to stay a full week. A rental home, which is where we have always stayed, usually requires a week’s commitment during the summer or "peak" season. As a result, for those looking for a "long" weekend, you may find that Outer Banks hotel or motel would serve the purpose.

The Ramada Plaza Hotel, Kill Devil Hills

For ease of locating the hotel to motel that best suites your needs, we have divided the listing into two, the first covering the towns from Corolla to Nags Head, on the northern end of the island; with the second covering the towns of Manteo, Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island. In the northern end of the island, the vast majority of hotels reside in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, while in the southern part; the vast majority is located in Buxton and Ocracoke Island. We have linked up with Hotel Combined. This is exciting because wherever you see the name of the hotel as a link (blue underline), click on it and it will provide you with more details of the hotel, how previous guest have rated the hotel, pictures of the hotel and you can book your stay right on our site. Also, a hotel will be denoted as an Outer Banks pet friendly hotel is it falls into that group. No need to do massive hunting on the Internet. All the information is provided right here!

The Village of Hatteras

We have included an “average price” amount. This is an average across the entire year, which means the rates are likely to be higher during the summer months and cheaper during the off-season periods (November through April). Again, use this more to compare on a relative basis than as an absolute indicator of costs. Also indicated are those hotels that advertise as “pet friendly”, meaning you are able to have your pet stay with you in the room. It is likely that more than those indicated allow pets, so you may want to ask. A separate pet fee is likely to apply.

If you would like to comparative shop the Outer Banks hotels and have all of the deals currently available, then you probably want to use the Outer Banks Hotel Search page. This will quickly show you a listing of all of the hotels in that town. The search page can be used with any city of your choosing, whether in the United States or around the world.

After you select your hotel, here is a list of things to pack for your vacation.
