Island Perks in Buxton/Hatteras

This is a great place to eat. It's primarily open only for breakfast, but I've heard that this is changing with them opening a new location at Hatteras Landing. Their breakfast food is AMAZING! The portions are nicely sized, their potatoes are good, and while it may look sloppy coming out, it tastes delicious. They have a wide selection of things to order, which helps anyone who may be a little picky. The coffee is also good, which helps. However, I HIGHLY recommend the cinnamon rolls, especially when they are fresh out of the oven. They are huge (large enough to share), not too sweet, and when warm, they are soft and sticky with the gooey icing. It's well worth stopping to eat here! They also have an amazing gift shop with some very nice, higher end items, like stained glass lamps, black and white photos, and nice picture frames (and not those gaudy ones you can get anywhere else). They also have a large selection of seashells to purchase, if you weren't lucky enough to find some on your own.
