Plan on vacationing December 28-31, 2010 but heard there are many restaurants, shops, and local attractions closed. Is this true? Was looking forward to spending quality family time at Duck, Ocracoke, etc

December restaurant, shop, attraction closings?
No Worries about Closings over the Holidays by: Dan
We have been spending between Christmas and New Years on the Outer Banks since 2002. We have not come up against any closing issues. There may be some stores/restaurants closed, but the majority will be open. This is the last chance before the cold winter months to turn over the last bit of inventory. So expect to find most of your favorite stores and restaurants open for business. You will also find some great discounts on OBX stuff and other things on the beach, as retailers will be performing final inventory and closing down for a few months in January. I would also anticipate most of the sights to be open as well. So, plan to have a great time over the Holidays.
