The Currituck Club:
Arguably the Premier Course in the Outer Banks

The Currituck Club is located in Corolla in the Outer Banks. It is one of the six championship Outer Banks golf courses. It has received numerous awards, including "10 Best New Places to Play" by Golf Digest in 1997, "Top 25 Courses in North Carolina" by Golf Digest in May 1999, and again by Golf Digest in 2004, it made the "Best Places to Play" list, quite an accomplishment for such a young course at the time in a state as renowned as North Carolina for golf.

The Currituck Club in Corolla, NC This 6,885 yard Par 72 course opened in 1997 and was designed by Rees Jones. Rees Jones' vision of combining and preserving the natural beauty and offering a challenging golf course is realized at the Currituck Club. Perhaps no hole better illustrates this than on the par 5, 587 yard elevated 13th hole, with its panoramic views of the sound and ocean as well as a view of the Currituck Lighthouse. Within the property, 15 acres has been set aside for the Currituck Shooting Club, which dates back to 1857. Robert Robbins is the PGA Professional, and Mike Terry is the superintendent.

There are four sets of tees (see chart below for yardage), with the tee recommendations as follows:

  • Black

  • Blue

  • White

  • Red

The fees do vary by month, so check with the club for actual rates. In addition, the club does have separate rates if you accompany a member, if you are renting a house on the property and are not accompanying a member, if you are a local, twilight rates and junior rates. The Currituck Club is open year round. The club does have a warm up area available. Tee times can be made anytime except during the summer months when they can only be made two weeks in advance.

The Currituck Club in Corolla, NC Proper golf attire is required at all times. No cut off jeans, swimsuits or tank tops are permitted. Men must wear sleeved shirts with collars at all times. Soft spikes, sneakers or flat-soled shoes are required. Metal spikes are not permitted.
