Carolina Club:
Groomed for the Pro; Available to the Public

The Carolina Club is located in Grandy off Route 158 on the Currituck Mainland.

It is one of the six championship Outer Banks golf courses. It is about a 13 mile drive from the Wright Memorial Bridge heading north. As its tag line implies, “Groomed for the Pro, Available to the Public,” it has been hailed by many golfers as the finest putting surface they have ever played on.

This 7,000 yard Outer Banks course opened in 1998 and was designed by Russell Breeden and Bob Moore. Bryan Porro is the PGA Professional, and Bobby Brown is the superintendent. The 166 yard, par 3 7th hole is an island green, and with the area's reputation for wind, makes it all the more challenging.

There are five sets of tees (see chart below for yardage), with the tee recommendations as follows:

In addition, the club does have special junior rates. The Carolina Club is open year round. The club does have a warm up area available.

A dress code is enforced in keeping with the tradition of the game. The dress code is collar shirts for men with slacks or Bermuda shorts. No bathing suits, cutoff shorts, etc. For the ladies, shirts that have collars can be sleeveless. If the shirt does not have a collar, it must have sleeves. Soft spikes, sneakers or flat-soled shoes are required.

The club does not permit private coolers, in keeping with ABC Regulations.

After you play the Carolina Club, you may also want to try its sister course, The Pointe Golf Club located in Powells Point.
