Best restaurant for a large family dinner.

Hi! I love your site. This summer I will be spending a week in Corolla with my in-laws. This is the second time we've done this, and while it was fun last year, I'm hoping it'll be even better this year.

We want to have one night where we all go out for dinner. Last year, my sister-in-law chose the restaurant. It was a horribly overpriced seafood buffet, one I never would have chosen. Because nobody enjoyed it (and several people felt ill the rest of the night), said sister-in-law is not in charge of choosing the restaurant this time.

We're looking for something nice-ish, but not fancy or expensive. There should be a good seafood selection, but also some other choice. We're a group of 15, kids all the way through great-grandmother.

I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Thanks,
Greg

Colington Cafe
by: Dan

Greg,

Thank you for visiting Outer Banks Revealed. I have greatly enjoyed building it and comments like yours makes it all worthwhile.

Our very favorite restaurant ... for any size group ... without any question ... and I've mentioned it many times is Colington Cafe.

Am I biased ... yes. We were first told about the Colington when we purchased our home in Duck Landing in Duck, NC by one of the people working at Sun Realty at the time. That was in 2002, and we've gone to the Colington every time we've visited the Outer Banks since.

The Colington Cafe is located in Kill Devil Hills, on Colington Rd, whicg is the light past the Wright Brothers Memorial. You take a left and it is on the right hand side about a mile to two miles up the road. It could be a bit of a trip from Corolla (next year when you stay in our Duck house, it won't be but 15 minutes ;), but it is well worth the drive. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!

For other recommendations, check out our restaurant page. You won't be disappointed.

Dan
